“GoStride is a NEW group fitness CONCEPT that effectively combines hiking, running, rowing and riding into ONE full body cardio workout on a STRIDER.” –

And they’re not kidding.

My first GoStride class was just under a week ago and it was such a sneaky, fantastic workout. I worked up a sweat, I woke up sore the next day and it was a wonderful new option to my tried and true routines. The key is to hold your core and keep good posture while doing the workout.  Like Soul Cycle, the instructor does want you to try and keep the beat with the music while on the ‘strider’ but at the end you do free weights off the machine.

My instructor, and friend Tahlia Bliss was nice enough to give me all the insider details post-workout:

Kelli Chronicles: Can you tell me about how Go Stride started?

Go Stride:  “The founders are Jill Weiss, Jeannie Klein and Janet DeFrino. Jill and Janet went to Penn and were college roommates. They wanted to bring something different to the fitness world and did hours and hours of research taking fitness classes all over the country.  They discovered the M5 Strider [which is] popular in Europe.  They came up with the routines/moves by trying different things on the machine.” (more information on the M5 Strider below)

Kelli Chronicles: Why is this the most effective workout in your opinion?

Go Stride: “It is a full body workout. The M5 Strider gives a fantastic full body workout. Not only will it work your legs and arms but it will also help improve blood circulation, heart health and will lengthen the amount of time it takes you to get out of breath.”

Kelli Chronicles: Do they have GoStride Gear?

Go Stride: “They do offer their own private Go Stride workout wear but they also have a small in house store by JujaActive…Juja changes the inventory every few weeks so there are always new things  They have a store in the Hamptons as well.”

Kelli Chronicles: Do you work with any charities?
Go Stride: “They do hold charity events and do a lot of corporate events and team building. [But] At this time they do not offer private lessons.”
Kelli Chronicles: Do you have plans for expanding from Port Chester?
Go Stride: “They are looking into expanding into NYC but they have only been open since February 17, 2016!”
